Normal, Dim and Bright. Dim indicates an item which is not currently valid (ie 10Mhz status when locked to GPS). Bright is used to indicate an item that is responsible for activating the Fault LED. Normal is for other status that are relevant but not faulted. - Added new menu that is accessed by pressing select on the "ENG/USER MODE" item in the General menu. After the password is entered it will timeout in 5 minutes back into User mode. (Default password is "5600") - Added control for setting and enabling menu hides to engineering menu - Added Vistalink (SNMP) enable control to engineering menu. 'off' means the unit will not respond to any SNMP packets. 'traps only' means that only traps are sent and 5600MSC configuration can be read. 'on' allows full read/write control with traps sent on faults. - In the IP RULES menu, 4 trap destinations for SNMP are configurable. There are 4 IP addresses and 4 enables. - Added wordclock phasing to the AES/DARS menu (+WC option only) - Menu help added. Pressing the UP and DOWN arrow keys at the same time will activate a scrolling display with a brief description of the menu control and what the selections mean - The default and factory reset daylight savings times for NTSC (USA) have the start and end times updated to start on 2nd week of March and end on the first week of November - Date entry changes to manual entry and DST day-of-month mode - Added a status to show whether SNMP is enabled - Added a status to indicate which options are installed on the 5600MSC - Adjusted phasing of SD outputs slightly to line them up with sync outputs - Added support for setting LTC and VITC outputs to different frame rates than the time reference when using a VITC or LTC time reference - Time can be locked to GPS when frequency reference is not set to GPS - Improved GPS relock upon signal removal - GPS fault now activates when receiver loses track of all satellites - Improved 720p tri-level genlock performance Version 1.7 build 4 release2 (September 15, 2006) ------------------------------------------------- * WARNING - When time is locked to LTC or VITC inputs, changes in input time will be propagated through the system immediately. - 5600MSC code remains unchanged (1.7 build 4) - 7751TG2-HD code updated to correct boot up test signal (4.2 build 4) Version 1.7 build 4 (August 23, 2006) ------------------------------------- - Added support for HD embedded audio level control* * Note: Requires 7751TG2-HD code version 4.2 build 3 or higher - Added command to allow user to select whether to accecpt time changes - Improved GPS support Version 1.6 build 16 (January 24, 2006) --------------------------------------- - correction to PAL test signals data - correction to EngUser Mode Version 1.6 build 13 (January 04, 2006) --------------------------------------- - corrected issue with the debug timer and 10MHz genlock in debug menu Version 1.6 build 12 (December 23, 2005) ---------------------------------------- - On the 7751TG2-HD, use 7751tg2hd_4v1b8 for -20dB audio levels, and 7751tg2hd_4v1b9 for -18dB audio levels - Presets have been added. - VITC timecode reader added. - The timing has been relaxed on the modem for NTC time. - Popup added when adjusting video phasing which shows Colour frame, V phase, H phase and Fine phase. - VistaLink support for pruning the menu trees. - Unsetting panel lock now requires PANEL LOCK and SELECT button to be pressed. - 10MHz genlock is now a bit tighter. ie, it has less wander. - Selectable pedestal added for NTSC modes on sync outputs. - IP and NTP setting have been seperated into 2 menus since IP is related to both VistaLink/SNMP and NTP. - Support added for quiet audio on black SDI output when the hardware is available. - FPGA loader has front panel count down. - Under STATUS, number of satellites tracked now gives more accurate data. Previously, it showed the number of satellites that the antenna could "see". Now it reports the number of satellites that it is using. Note that it rejects satellites with weak signals. - Genlock improvements: GPS locking. Phase excursions due to single bad data points have been eliminated. When loss of lock has been detected for 3 seconds, the vco settings are frozen at an average of all the best data for the last 15 seconds. This makes the system more stable after a loss of lock condition. - The signal level requirements for satellite reception has been changed. Weak satellites are rejected since this often indicates reflected signals. - The vco measurements are stored in non volatile ram after they are acquired. This gives faster initial lockup. These settings can be reacquired using the control INPUT -> JAM SYSTEM NOW -> Reset Genlock which will cause a momentary unlock condition. - correction to NTP. The IP layer was returning an incorrect source IP. It only affected large routers. Version 1.5 build 15 (June 24, 2005) ------------------------------------ Note that this upgrade requires the 775x-TG2 card to be upgraded. **************************************************************************** Be sure to use the correct version of 775x-TG2 software. If you do not know which version to use, upgrade the 5600MSC, and then go to: GENERAL > FIRMWARE > Uprade 775x-TG2 7751tg2hd_3v1b5.bin or 7750tg2hd_1v3b1.bin **************************************************************************** - for both 7751TG2-hd, and 7750TG2-HD, H and V phasing controls are now live. - closed captioning signals have been added to the 7751TG2-HD. - 16 channels of audio are available on the 7751TG2-HD. - the audio is synchornized on the 7751TG2-HD. - reduced movement in the Genlock, narrow range mode. - faster genlock from startup. - moving line now has text in it. - ATG and SDI test signals can be toggled from GPI's. - added 5 new standards to the sync outputs. 720P50, 720P24, 720P23.98, 625i48(slo Pal) and 625i49.97(slo Pal). - added controls to GPI usage (under GENERAL). Allows GPI's to be used to cycle through ATG and SDI TG test signals - added exclusion controls. ATG, STG and/or HTG can now be excluded from synchro mode. - syncro mode was deactivated when input was referenced to 10MHz, or internal. Now, it just excludes global phasing. - forced 7751TG2 to be phase locked. - 10MHz is bypassed when Genlocked, and in wide range. - Lat, Long has been added to the user bits as a mode of date. Version 1.4 build 1 (October 29, 2004) -------------------------------------- Note that this upgrade requires the 775x-TG2 card to be upgraded. Upgrade the 5600MSC first, then the 775x-TG2. **************************************************************************** Be sure to use the correct version of 775x-TG2 software. If you do not know which version to use, upgrade the 5600MSC, and then go to: GENERAL > FIRMWARE > Uprade 7750-TG2 or GENERAL > FIRMWARE > Uprade 7751-TG2 and use the appropriate bin file, 1v2_218_7750TG2-HD.bin or 2v0_84_7751TG2-HD.bin respectively. **************************************************************************** Corrections for: - Corrected issue in modem to allow NTP operation when time synced via modem. - Move SDI TG phaseing foreware by about 1.5 lines to be in sync with analog sync outputs. Move PAL lines 1 and 2, second synch pulse leading edge foreward by 1.3 us. Move NTSC analog TG phasing foreward by ~74 ns. Move PAL analog TG phasing back by ~111 ns. - Corrected issue in NTP which caused loss of connectivity under extreme network loads. - Better genlock in smooth mode. Features added: - Added self diagnostics for internal systems. - 5 MHz input genlock now operational. - Variable level on analog audio output. - A modification to the upgrade system. The video and LTC signals remain mostly functional during an upgrade. The data will freeze. If no fpga changes occured, the fpga will not reload after an upgrade. This will only affect future upgrades. - LTC output overload protection changed. If it detects a short while in the powered mode, it removes the power, and retries once per minute to see if the short or overload has been removed. - Added more items to dump Under GENERAL > SERIAL PORT MODE > "Port status dump" Added extra items to the text. "Port status get" Causes port to look for data. The format is the same as the data printed by Port status dump. The only data used is the data within square brackets. For example, [0a1c040362000000000000000001000000000000010000110011040500007836] This can be used to save a system status. After doing a Port status dump, capture this data to file. To retrieve, enable Port status get, and send this file in text format. *** Caution *** This may change any or all settings in a 5600MSC. - Defaults to NTSC, and LTC rate 29.97 Drop Frame. Version 1.3 build 14 (May 25, 2004) ----------------------------------- Note that this upgrade requires the 775x-TG2 card to be upgraded. **************************************************************************** Timing has been corrected to make 1Hz pulse and 1/M pulse occur at the correct time. When a system jam is needed, the phase detector will keep trying to get to the correct phase if possible. If it is able to find this point, it will clear the system jam request. Issue corrected which caused lack of control to HD test patterns when in synchro mode. Issue corrected which rarely caused the name NTSC-M in video standard to be replaced by a test pattern name A max of 1024 entrys in ARP table. Previously was 16. It limited the number of clients that could be attached in NTP Note that if the 5600MSC is not GPS locked, the 1Hz output (in Standard def) may not correspond to 0 frames in LTC/VITC. To be corrected in later versions. New menu items. Note that some items here show the existing nearby menus for clarity. The note will say "(already exists)" on these. If a manual input jam is needed, the menu is set to INPUT > NEEDS SYSTEM JAM Upon pressing INPUT, the menu is set to INPUT > JAM SYSTEM NOW > System force jam. Pressing SELECT will cause system to be jammed. There will probably be a video shift at this point. Note that popup times have been reduced from 1.0 to 0.3 seconds. popup under INPUT > LOCK CONTROL > abrupt lock/slow lock has been removed. Under INPUT > GENLOCK RANGE > GL range narrow/wide if INPUT > FREQUENCY REF > is GPS freq ref or Internal frq ref, then INPUT > GENLOCK RANGE > GL range narrow, and is dimmed. Under INPUT > LOCK CONTROL > abrupt lock/slow lock if INPUT > GENLOCK RANGE > is wide, then INPUT > LOCK CONTROL > abrupt lock, and is dimmed. Under GENERAL > FIRMWARE > Uprade TG2 becomes Under GENERAL > FIRMWARE > Uprade 7750-TG2 or Under GENERAL > FIRMWARE > Uprade 7751-TG2 depending on which card is included. When upgradeing, it is important that the user loads the correct code. Under GENERAL > SERIAL PORT MODE > "Port sync time" acts the same as Port synchro rx, but only synchronizex the time, and does not affect operating controls. "Port status dump" Causes the current settings of all controls to be printed out on the serial port in human readable text. When the modem has made a successful connection to receive time, it will cause the time locked to be valid for 10 days. The second item appears when an input jam is needed. INPUT > JAM SYSTEM NOW > No sys jam req'd. > System force jam. This item appears when an input jam is needed. Under Status % Ref Lock (already exists) Status NEEDS SYSTEM JAM Status Freq Phase Lockd (already exists) Under STATUS Modem, the Modem status will show a popup for 10 seconds after an attempt to connect. The messages are: "FAIL TIMED OUT" means there was no connection. "FAIL LINK POOR" means that the data timing was too erratic. "FAIL CPU BUSY" internal error. We may not want to document this one. "FAIL LOOPBACK " the loopback time was incorrect. Indicates a bad line. "FAIL NO DIALTONE" No dialtone on phone line. "FAIL BUSY" The number being calle was busy.
