This means the configuration of previous firmware revisions cannot be used. The steps below detail how to conduct the firmware upgrade. If A DHCP Server Is Present =========================== 1) with the "old" firmware, use hyperterminal (or similar) to access the serial port and capture the current configuration settings to a text file 2) using FTP, upload this release of firmware 3) once the firmware is transferred close your FTP session to allow the firmware to be saved to flash 4) when the firmware has been saved to flash, power off the PTX 5) with the toggle switch held up, power on the PTX 6) release the toggle switch when 'CLRF' appears on the LCD 7) reconfigure according to the file captured in step 1 If A DHCP Server Is Not Present =============================== 1) with the "old" firmware, use hyperterminal (or similar) to access the serial port and capture the current configuration settings to a text file 2) using FTP, upload this release of firmware 3) once the firmware is transferred close your FTP session to allow the firmware to be saved to flash 4) when the firmware has been saved to flash, power off the PTX 5) with the toggle switch held up, power on the PTX 6) continue to hold up the toggle until the status LED changes from red to green, this will put some default network setings into flash and allow you to get access to the user menu right away 7) reconfigure according to the file captured in step 1 Version 1.00 build 119 (June 8, 2004) ------------------------------------- - added private buffer pool for protocol translations - enabled outgoing serial data - fix for "blinking" when using image video console Version 1.00 build 102 (April 23, 2004) --------------------------------------- - resolved heavy serial traffic issues during power on sequence Version 1.1 build 100 (November 04, 2002) ----------------------------------------- - first release
